 Jim is one of the original members of the Jazz Happens Band and is responsible for the low notes in the music. He spends the full-time part of his life as an education and Outread Director at Cornell -- but the rest of his time is spent with music. Jim not only plays tuba with Jazz Happens but plays guitar in several groups, solo gigs and as an accompanist.
On his role as tuba player for the band, Jim says, "My oom-pahs in Jazz Happens give the non-musical people in our audiences something to tap their foot to. Besides, dixieland music and the tuba are pretty compatible with my personality - - nothing sad or unhappy about it!" |
