Updating a public page
Musicians, bands, and gigs each have a page that has multiple 'tabs'.
Orange tabs are for information that is publicly accessible,
and green tabs for administrative purposes. The green tabs (the last
three) are only shown if you are granted access;
the information under the orange tabs can only
be edited if you can see the green tabs.
If you cannot see the green tabs but believe you have the right
to update the public information, first make sure that you are
registered and
logged on to GigKeeper.
To update your Musician page, you can use the green 'Admin', 'Profile',
and 'Emails' tabs.
- The 'Profile' tab contains most of the
information that is displayed on the public 'Info' tab.
You can also insert a picture there.
(Currently only the last 'added' picture is shown.)
- The 'Emails' tab contains the list of email
addresses associated with your account, and how those email addresses appear
on various pages.
- The 'Admin' tab contains information about
your availability to gigs (public, private, or personal)
and which bands you belong to (including the ones that are not 'public').
What appears
on your public Calendar tab heavily depends on this information. The
Calendar tab only displays those gigs that are Public and Definite (go
to the gig page to check), and for which either you are a member
of the band or you have been invited as a guest and you have indicated
that you are available to play.
To update a Band page, you can use the green 'Admin', 'Profile',
and 'Parts' tabs. You should see these tabs if you are a member of the
band. In order to become a member of the band, a Manager of the band
must have invited you. Even if you see the green tabs, you may have
limited access. Managers have full access, while members can only update
their availability.
- The 'Profile' tab contains most of the
information that is displayed on the public 'Info' tab.
You can also insert a picture there.
(Currently only the last 'added' picture is shown.)
- The 'Parts' tab contains the list of parts
associated with the band, and these are listed on the public 'Members'
tab.
- The 'Admin' tab contains the list of gigs (public, private, or
personal) of this band. The
Calendar tab only displays those gigs that are Public and Definite.
By clicking on a gig you can go to the corresponding gig page to check
its status.
To update a Gig page, you can use the green 'Edit', 'Availability',
and 'Location' tabs. You should see these tabs if you are a member of the
band. In order to become a member of the band, a Manager of the band
must have invited you. Even if you see the green tabs, you may have
limited access. Managers have full access, while members can only update
their availability.
- The 'Edit' tab contains most of the
information that is displayed on the public 'Info' tab.
- The 'Availability' tab lists the availability of the various musicians
in the band. If you are a manager, you can also invite musicians here for
the particular gig as subs or guest musicians.
A manager can also update somebody's availability by clicking on their
availability icon.
- The 'Location' tab is used to set the precise location of a gig.
Once set, the Info tab will display a map on which a visitor can get
directions. You can specify an address, and you can also drag the map.
The location is updated by clicking on the map.
